Enter the KidsWrite Publishing Contest!

You could be chosen as one of our lucky winners.

  1. Two contests will be held each month; one for students in grades 3-6 and one for grades 7-12.
  2. Contest is open to all students (in grades 3-12) in the United States.
  3. Stories must be in English and must be in completed form. All types of stories are welcome.
  4. No entry fee is required, and all rights to story submissions remain the property of the author.
  5. Give us a taste of your story in 200 words or less. You can write a chapter or just a little overview - whatever works best for you.
  6. You can work with your parents, teachers, or friends in preparing your story submission.
  7. All entries must be your original works and not be copied from other sources.
  8. Deadline to enter is the 25th day of each month.
  9. Only one entry per person per month, please. If you aren't chosen as a winner, you may resubmit the following month.
  10. Winners are judged by the KidsWrite staff based on quality, originality, content, and overall appeal. The decisions of the judges are final.
  11. Winners will receive a $25.00 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble as well as have his or her story published by KidsWrite.
  12. If selected as a winner, you permit KidsWrite to post your book, name, grade, and school name on its website.
